The quake was part of an “earthquake swarm” or series of tremors that started last Thursday, caused by the movement of the East Luzon Trough off the northeastern seaboard, Phivolcs Director Renato Solidum said. Solidum said “earthquake swarms” were common and could last for over a month. The epicenter of Tuesday's earthquake was on the same location as last Sunday, 98 kilometers east of Baler town, Aurora province, with a depth of 13 kilometers, Solidum said in a phone interview. Intensity 4 was felt in Quezon City, Manila, and Baler, intensity 3 was felt in Makati City and Dingalan town in Aurora, while intensity 2 was felt in La Trinidad town and Baguio City in the north, the Phivolcs chief said. The tremors over these past days do not confirm rumors of a strong earthquake in the capital next week, Solidum said. He said there was no way to predict when and where an earthquake would strike, even as scientists could estimate how much magnitude a fault was capable of producing. Liza Cana |

we're baaacckkk!!! :)
| we arrived sunday lunchtime from a month-long very enjoyable and activity filled holiday back home in the philippines and was able to squeeze-in a side-trip to hongkong. we have loads of pictures to upload, and it might take a bit of time for us to choose the photos, sort and upload it... so if you visit our site often, just click here to checkout our latest uploaded photos which we will update within the week (hopefully!). enjoy and welcome back! :) so, what kept us busy during the 31-day holiday? well, we had two weddings, a baptism, a 1st birthday party, 2 family reunions, two beach holidays, an outing in baguio, visited daddy, met friends from highschool, college and previous work, 2 trips to hongkong and the boys had the time of their lives bonding with their cousins... what a way to spend a holiday! :) oh, we unfortunately got sick during our first few days, but hubby was the unluckiest, as he got sick for 10-days straight. but aside from that we all enjoyed seeing family and friends again, we should start saving up for the next trip! :) |

booked and ready
we've finally finalized our bookings for our family holiday in our lupang hinirang. we've paid for in full our airline tickets from here to manila a couple of months back. it's going to be a big family holiday (on my side) since we also booked to go on a week's holiday in bohol! we're so excited. i've managed to convince my bro in japan to join us in coming home, and he happily obliged. air tickets and accomdations have also been booked for the bohol trip. i had to do the booking from here since my sisters couldn't finalize, so now they have no choice! :p too bad my sis & mom in the US won't be able to join us. but that's understandable and sis will be coming here for their family vacation in april for 2 weeks. so, my brood in manila will be joining us, plus the pamangkins. really exciting! but the main reason for our trip is that DH & kuya FL will be part of my BIL's wedding entourage. DH is best man while kuya FL will be the ring bearer. we actually managed to convince BIL to move their church wedding in february since DH wasn't allowed to take a holiday during the holiday season - just great, isn't it?! so, we're counting down the days, and that's 46 days before our take-off. we leave first week of feb and then a week after, we head for bohol! ah, i miss the beach!!! :) can't wait for february! |
