    on the other hand...
kuya FL, who's been in the garderie since mid-March this year has his own surprises, as well. he can now count en francais! i was really surprised because just a while ago, while i was busy cutting paper for SA's party decors, i thought of teaching him counting in french... well, was i in for a surprise! i started saying un... and to my surprise, amazement and pleasure, he continued with un, deux , trois, quatre, cinq, six, sept, huit, neuf, dix ! wow, was that a moment of pride for me, because all this time i thought he wasn't learning much in the garderie... well, i'm pleased that i was wrong! but, looks like he still needs to master l'alphabet but that's ok, at least i know he's on his way

    new habit
my almost-1-year-old has a new habit, and it's not very pleasant but he does smile big and wide whenever i look at him doing it - he's now into teeth gnashing! yup! he just loves his newfound use of his eigth teeth. i think he just uses his four front incisors to make that (horrible for me) sound. haay! there is no was i can stop him from doing that, there was one time i tried stopping it by putting my finger into his mouth and what do you know... i got a very painful index finger after! boy, he sure bites hard!

    pram queen

... pram, stroller, pushchair, buggy, poussette, pousse-pousse... six terms i know for that thing with wheels that you use to put a baby or toddler in in order to make life easier. and that's also the number of those things that i own... well, now it's only two (all the rest were either given away or sold) but i did own six of them! is that a record? (hubby thinks so! he even said i was obsessed with those things! :). sadly, our original one, the one kuya FL and little SA used when they were tiny babies, i've already sold quite cheaply to someone who needs it more now. i've owned 4 umbrella stroller (only one is left, a red chicco london) and two full-sized strollers (the original one and the one we still use, a bebe confort trophy). we kept the london one because it was very practical, light and easy to use - same reasons we kept the trophy one, as well! the trophy i love because it's got a small board where your second child (from 2 yrs old) can step on when he is already tired of walking. but now, i am eyeing another one... a chicco ct 0.1, i've actually seen one i can buy, but the one i like was already sold, so too much for my 7th! :)

    almost one

today is SA's 11th month birthday, how time flies! we'll be holding a picnic celebration on the day itself, next month - June 8th. yes, it's a friday so we're praying for an overall good turnout, attendees - since it's a workday and call time is 5:30p.m.. yes, we start a bit late in the afternoon because we're hoping the weather will be good and the usual long days of spring/summer. i've done the invites, will be sending them out this weekend, so i won't be posting the design just yet! so as not to spoil the excitement, in case those we'll be sending the invites to will read it here before they actually receive it.

SA's still baby to us, i haven't been encouraging him too much to walk... because i know i'll be paying the price early, if he learns too soon... hehehe.. but he's a fast crawler, can stand up quickly and tries to stand on his own, but usually get off-balanced... so it's coming soon and i'm in no hurry!

he's truly an angel, just like his kuya FL - in all his activeness :). he looks up to his kuya as if he's the president of his fan club. i'm not exaggerating, there are times when he would squeal with delight at the sight of his big bro... he grins with all 4 (now almost 8) teeth when kuya plays with him. he is happy to be with his family, it feels like heaven when we see his big bright eyes and that charming smile showing how happy he is to see his dad, kuya and especially his mom (heheheh... biased!). just seeing them so happy and content makes us realize how blessed we are to have our two little boys. we just can't imagine life without them!

    my real mom meme

this blog has been sitting on "draft" since april 10th.. i forgot about this already, but i think it's really nice to share this.

i was surfing one day and was actually surprised to discover that there were so many real-mom-related sites with contributor-moms. one of the sites i chanced upon is this site made by moms for moms. you might want to share your own real mom experience, they have a contest going on right now :)

anyway, Real Moms meme is based on being there for the icky-ness and not batting an eye. and here are mine...

    * real moms will bare-handedly hold a child's nose so he can blow out those things you have in it when you have a runny nose and does the cleaning-up afterwards. (i'm lucky the little one has his dad as his idol that he learned to do the blowing at an early age :))

    * real moms will get up in the middle of a sumptuous dinner, be it in a restaurant or a big family meal when her little one announces "mommy, i need to poo-poo", take him to the toilet, clean up the little angel and go back to the table, as if nothing happened... of course you thoroughly clean up your hands first! :)

    * real moms will un-embarrassed-ly announce that the reason they were late for a get-together is because the tiny one decided to poop and the whole family needs to drop everything so we can clean up the mess - and that will usually take another 15 minutes.

ok, i think those previews will do... now i'm tagging kiten, ana, jody, dang, mich, jigi, maan and haydee. come on and join the fun, show them what you've got!!! enjoy!

    16 eggs
yup, that's the number of eggs i've burned! you read it right, i have the ability to burn boiled eggs!!! grrr!!! and not once, but twice... it's actually 8 eggs per batch. it all started two weeks ago, when i was cooking adobo, i was already simmering the dish - turned off the electric stove, and left it there - when i decided to boil some eggs to add to the dish. at first i wanted to just boil 4 eggs, but then adobo gets tastier as time goes by (... hehehe, ewan ko ba kung bakit, baka parang wine, pag nag-e-age eh it gets better!), so i prepared to cook 4 more eggs. set it up, put the eggs in water, and turned the stove in high heat... and then left it to boil and planned to come back after, say, 5 minutes to turn off the heat. but that part, i missed! so after probably 30 minutes, while i was busy with other things... i heard popping sounds, i just ignored it coz i thought it was just the wind and the curtain, and then there was an aroma that filled the house... it wasn't bad at all, it actually smelled like popcorn so i still didn't panic, and no bell rang, just thought it could probably be the neighbor's lunch. and then, all of a sudden, it hit me! i totally forgot about the eggs!!! so, there, i wasted eggs, water and electricity! and that doesn't stop there.... it happened again today, with the same number of eggs. i hope it doesn't happen again, i pity those 16 eggs whose lives ended in a very unfortunate way...
