    easter weekend
easter weekend means long weekend here. good friday and easter monday are public holidays... so, best way to take advantage of it is to go out of town and visit beautiful places. and that we did!

good friday was spent with my sister and her family, that being their last day of vacationing here and we went to Mt. Pilatus. we (my family) drove for about 2 hours to Lucerne where we will meet them (my sis' family) so we can go up together. so that's more or less 5 hrs driving for hubby that day. we had snacks - lots of french fries - on the viewing deck and then dinner was along the chapel bridge in the city proper of Lucerne.

the next day, they will need to be at the airport at 5am, since their flight is at 7am... so that means, we (me, too since i have to bid them farewell) have to be up latest 4am - that is after we went to bed at 12am. and that also means, 1 hrs driving from our place to the airport and back - equals additional 2 hrs driving for hubby.

he got back to the house around 6:00am and got back to bed, because we will again be on the road for another 3hr drive to St. Gallen, where we spent Black Saturday and the morning of Easter Sunday. we left the house at 11am, so we got to SG at about 2pm, since weather was good and the sun was shining, we decided to just go around town after we checked-in in our hotel. and boy, did we have a blast! the place was just awesome!!! :-) we toured the city, took pictures, and just marveled at the beautiful place. we had dinner at a really great restaurant, recommended by my French language teacher, they served authentic swiss cuisine and yes, the food did exceed our expectations :)

by the time we got back to the hotel we were exhausted, but we have to be up by 7am to hopefully take part on the easter egg hunt. so, after breakfast, shower and dressing up, we all went out, this time, weather was not so good. it was freezing! we walked around, saw the hunters with their eggs in the bags, unfortunately it looks like we went out a bit late, we didn't find any eggs anymore... but the good thing is we were "handed" an egg by one of the organizers, they gave the egg to baby SA, since he sure won't be able to go hunting by himself. :) it was fun, still, and FL had a blast. we will definitely do it again :)

after the egg hunt, we went back to the hotel - that's around 9:30am and FL had his breakfast, after breakfast, we checked out and attended the 11am mass in the Cathedral. after that, we went off again to our next destination: the Rheinfalls, the biggest waterfalls in Switzerland (or Europe, is it?).

we capped the day with another long drive, that' 3 hrs from Neuehaussen, CH. this time, we were already struggling, we were so tired from the last two days, but having had a good time, we were able to ignore it. and since Monday is another non-working holiday, we just stayed home and rested the whole day... until our next trip... which is due in 2 weeks time! :) can hardly wait! :D
