    27/09/03 - Franco Lorenzo's arrival
i wanted to post FL's birthing story before sharing SA's. I have a draft of SA's birthing story already but have not yet finalized it. Hopefully soon, on his 1st month's birthday :)

here's kuya FL's birthing kwento... originally composed on October 14,2003. he is now 33-months old today. happy birthday, my dear baby! mommy and daddy loves you so dearly. :)

    @>;- @>;- @>;- @>;- @>;- @>;- @>;- @>;- @>;- @>;- @>;- @>;- @>;-

It's me again, the 15-minute express delivery mom. hehehe... BIG THANKS!!! to everyone who greeted me, and welcomed baby Franco. He gained 450grams since birth today and has grown 4cms. more. breastfed baby sya :)

How do I start? Ok, Sept. 1, I accepted a contract job here, this would serve as my "exercise" and syempre extra income din. Office was a good 40 minutes away from home, plus medyo mahabang lakad din from the bus stop (So, i got a really good "exercise" there!). I was supposed to work for 6 weeks starting 1st of September, since end of October naman ang due date ko, I wasn't really concerned. Plus, they knew I was pregnant (obviously!) and they agreed naman that I can work as long as before I give birth, which could be earlier than expected (but I never imagined it will be 4 weeks early!:).

So, yun work-work ako... until Sept. 22 came (Monday) I had a bloody show - my liners had blood streaks so I immediately called the hospital to tell them na meron nga akong pinkish discharge. Medyo concerned na ako kasi I was just 35 weeks that time. Baka something wrong is happening. But they told me to change my pads, and observe what happens. The I noticed the discharge at around 10 am, I changed my pads and by the afternoon, the new pad was still clear. So, ok na ako. I was relieved. And everything was clear for the whole work week.

Saturday, Sept. 27. I woke up at 6am to pee, and when I checked my pad, there was stain on my liners and this time it was bright red! I got a bit concerned and told Francis about this kagad who was still asleep. Didn't call the hospital yet, but what we did was the same thing I was told to do last monday, changed the pads and observed, went back to sleep. Woke up again at 8am for breakfast, again, may show pa rin. I think I changed pads 3x that morning, around 9am, I had cramp-like pains in my tummy na, I think they were contractions already. We called the hospital again, told them about the show and the contractions (they were around 20 mins. apart this time). Di pa naman talaga painful, it's just the show that I was concerned with. Tsaka mataas lang talaga ang tolerance ko sa pain kaya siguro di ko naisip na it that was it na!

So, tuloy pa din ang umaga, nood pa kami ng DVD, forgot what we watched pero medyo action ata at ang sub-woofer ni hubby eh medyo nakaka-carried away. heheheh... 11am, I was having pains again, and contractions, medyo mas masakit na sya so we decided to call again. 12nn Nakulitan na ata samin sabi ko around 15 mins. apart yung pain and the blood was still there. Kaya sabi sa hospital I can come there na daw for a "quick check" para din makampante na ako. Beside, 36 weeks pa lang daw ako kaya it happens daw talaga. They told me to take my time, take a shower. While I was taking a shower, medyo nagiging intense na ang pain. It was around 1pm na ata. pero take my time pa din ako, we prepared my bag and everything else. Around 2pm we were on the road, this time the contractions were 5 minutes apart and the pain was so intense already. In between contractions, I remembered something! We forgot to bring the camera!!! Grrr!!! Hubby said, don't worry, di pa daw lalabas yan, or so we thought!

We got to the hospital around 2:10, got a wheel chair, binalandra na lang ni Francis yung kotse sa may entrance dahil sabi ko masakit na talaga and mukhang my actions and facial expression shows na masakit na nga talaga! I told him nga to ignore the stop light na kasi it was too painful na. Pero he was trying to be calm, baka din kasi maaksidente pa kami kung dire-diretso sya. Tsaka mabuti nga yon at kung mag-panic sya eh baka di pa kami umabot sa ospital! So we finally got to the delivery suites. They asked me if I can get on the bed, sabi ko NO! hehehe... alangan naman sa wheelchair ako mganganak no! ewan ko, medyo ngarag na ako non eh. pero I eventually got to the bed for the examination. Tahimik yung midwife, I was fully dilated na pala! It was 2:15 then. So they transferred me to the delivery suite na. And I think about 1 minute after I got to the bed, I had the urge to push. But the midwife & doctor said to hold on kasi they still have to pop my water bag. I was asking for pain relief na kasi talagang ang sakit na.

One thing I can say is, yung labor (contractions) ang masakit talaga. When the baby is coming out, best way to describe the feeling is "worst case of constipation" lang. As in I pushed once, Franco's bumbunan was peeping already daw sabi ni Francis.

:p Then the next contraction, I gave a big push. Ayun, lumabas na buong ulo nya, then slide na sya out. Haay! what a relief bigla nung tapos na yung head. I was asking for pain relief before I started pushing, oo daw, sandali lang. Pero di na umabot! Tuloy-tuloy na sya eh, that was 2:32pm. He was immediately put on my chest so I can hold him na. It was a very good feeling, he immediately opened his eyes daw after coming out, sabi ni hubby. Hubby got to cut the cord, para daw pusit! :)

I got to experience an all-natural birth. Sa sobrang ire ko, I had 2nd degree tear, I had to have stitches, which was the time I was given gas. Ang sakit pa din, even with the gas. Nahilo pa ako nasobrahan ata.

I wouldn't say I had an easy birthing experience, but it was quick, maybe that's why It seems easy. We're just thankful everything is well, even if Franco arrived 4weeks early, he was well.
